The Unbudgeable Curmudgeon

by Matthew Burgess with pictures by Fiona Woodcock

Children's Books - The Unbudgeable Curmudgeon by Matthew Burgess

How do you budge a curmudgeon (who somewhat resembles your brother)?  He just won’t move.  No amount of budging or bribery will do.

A funny, and utterly delightfully illustrated, look at sibling rivalry and how moods can be contagious.

Don’t Call Me Bear!

by Aaron Blabey

Children's Books - Don’t Call Me Bear by Aaron Blabey

Poor little Koala.  He’s so tired of being called a bear!  Koalas are NOT bears.  They are marsupials.  And we have Captain Cook to thank for this annoying mistake.

This hilarious book about a very frustrated bear, I mean marsupial, is also educational.  Now my two-year old knows the difference between a koala and a grizzly bear!

Wolfie the Bunny

by Ame Dyckman with pictures by Zachariah Ohora

Children's Books - Wolfie the Bunny by Ame Dyckman

There is no book by Ame Dyckman that I don’t love.  In this book, Dot, a little bunny, and her parents come home (Park Slope!) to find a little basket containing a baby wolf on their doorstep.  Dot’s parents are smitten. But Dot is convinced this wolf will eat them all up.

My kids love yelling “Eat Us All Up!” and I love Ohora’s ode to his old Brooklyn neighbourhood.  Such a fun read!

Hope you enjoy these picks! And as always,

Happy Reading,
